We are Family!

We have been super lucky to have been joined by both our families during this trip.

As we knew that we would be staying in South East Asia for 6 months, a Thailand reunion felt like the most obvious choice.

We were super happy to see not only the Tuc parents but also the Fourn for two whole weeks in February. Our program was chilled and allowed us to travel to the West and the coast of Thailand.

After a few days in Bangkok, during which we  did an amazing cooking class (Thanks Julien) and also got to spend some time with Timmy & Nit, we headed off to Kanchanaburi. Checking out the local waterfalls and poolside lounging were top on our list of priorities…

Quiet Bangsaphan was our third destination – again, filled with tasty dinners, massages on the beach and an awesome snorkelling session.

We parted ways a couple of days later as we left to go discover Myanmar (covered in a separate article). But fast-forward two weeks, and back we are in Bangkok, this time to spend some quality time with the Sullys!

Our program was slightly different in that we decided to spend 4 days in Bangkok before going up north to check Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai out.

Chiang Rai offered a nice relaxing change after all the hussle and bussle of Bangkok (which we still love btw). We spent time at the fabulous White Temple and a few days of just lazing by the pool before heading off to Chiang Mai.

Celebrating Ireland’s Grand Slam on St Paddy’s day was a highlight (Hangover not included), along with the Night Bazaar and the 3D Art Museum (Ronan included).

We are now back to travelling in a pair, but happy to have shared some quality time with our amazing families. So a big thank you to all for spoiling us and coming from so far to share a bit of our journey.
